Foster Care Services Service Provision

Foster Care Services, established in 1998, is an Independent Fostering Provider, which covers the North-West of England and North Wales, within a reasonable travelling distance of our offices in Stockport.

The service is registered at the OFSTED offices in Ashton-under-Lyne.

Placements Available

We offer a range of fostering placements including:

• temporary
• long-term/permanent
• bridging
• parent and child and expectant mother
• short-term breaks/respite
• emergency/short notice

Placements are offered for all age groups 0–18, and sibling groups.

Quality Service

We have a stable staff group and 60% of the carers have been with the agency for more than 5 years.

Support to Placements

Each placement has:

• an experienced, established and committed supervising social worker

• a qualified, experienced teacher to promote educational achievement

• access to the on-call system available 24/7 and staffed by the supervising social workers or social work managers

• access to additional support services to assist in the times of greater demand

• an identified comprehensive package of support, aimed at achieving the best
  outcomes, in line with government targets, for children and young people:

Recruitment Strategy

We have an active programme to recruit new people into fostering, as well as experienced carers.
